10″ laptop: Who makes it?
Sponsored Links:
So, which company out there actually makes a 10″ laptop? Actually, there are more than a few, more than most people realize! The reasons to have such a laptop are plenty: while they’re obviously some of the most portable laptops on the market, they’re also fully functional. You might recall that many of the micro laptops (such as the 7″ laptop) aren’t very good at doing much more than getting online and checking your email. They might have some limited gaming capability, but nothing that requires any sort of intensive graphics. That’s where the 10″ laptop comes in: It bridges the gap between the ultra-portable netbooks and the laptops that might as well have their own zip code (i.e. the MacBook). Laptops with 10″ screens are generally able to run normal programs, as they’re able to fit the same processors and components into their casings that their larger cousins have. The only issue there is that with a 10″ screen, you often can’t get the best gaming experience in the world; you can’t always see what’s on the screen, right?
Okay, for those of you still reading after all my rambling (sorry, I’m tired), let’s talk about what types of 10″ laptops are available on the market at this moment:
The Toshiba PLL25U is a great little starter laptop, and is commonly available as a refurbished laptop. This system is quite the steal on various online marketplace sites if you decide to do the legwork to go look for them; I’m finding many of them available for less than $350. Yes, you heard that right: A solid laptop for less than $500. You can’t beat that anywhere. Its features are many, as well: It boasts a 1.0 GHZ Pentium processor (while not overly fast these days, it’s better than a netbook with <800 MHz!), a 160 GB hard drive, and 1.0 GB of RAM. Even better, it comes fully loaded with Windows XP from the get-go, so no need to deal with Vista (that’s worth a lot of money to some people
).
This is a great bargain for the type of system you get for the money. We’d feel pretty comfortable about this system. Okay guys, I’m really tired for tonight, so I hate to make this short. I’ll make another post shortly about which other laptops are available with 10″ screens, where to find them, and which ones of those are the best out there on the market today. For now, I hope you enjoyed our little spiel on how to find a 10″ laptop.
