What’s your favorite picture printer?

If you’re on this site, you’re probably wanting to know a little bit about a personal favorite of mine: the picture printer. This type of printer has made just about everyone’s life easier at least once; instead of having to go have photos digitally printed from companies such as Kinko’s, you can print your pictures using one of these handy printers from the comfort of your own home. It’s a great way to save time and money. Better yet, picture printers are sometimes extremely portable, making it easy to make prints whenever you’re out on the road with your laptop. This is a great tool for family reunions; you can just hand out all of your pictures right then and there. No collecting email addresses to do it later!

So, which digital picture printer gives you the best bang for the buck and the most convenience? That’s what we’re going to try to answer today with this post. There are many brands that usually come up when we talk about these types of printers: Canon, HP, and more than a few others carry a good number of these handy little things. Best yet, you can usually get them for fairly cheap; certainly much less than if you buy an All-In-One style printer. So, let’s get started:

One of the first models that most people bring up (for use with your laptop or notebook) is the HP Photosmart A646. This smart HP picture printer uses USB to connect to your laptop, but also has another interesting feature that’s not often seen on other models: It has bluetooth connectivity. Yes, you heard that right. You can use this printer wirelessly over the bluetooth protocol with your smart phone. If you have an iPhone, Blackberry, etc. you can actually print your pictures straight out through this printer.

Easy, right? The HP Photosmart A646 also faster than some of the other models: With a direct USB connection (probably what you’ll use anyway), it can print a picture in as little as 28 seconds. Sounds a little long compared to other printing methods? Sure, but this prints your photo in high resolution. If you consider the fact that you won’t have to drive all the way to the local Kinko’s or other store to get your photos printed out, you won’t mind that it takes a whole 30 seconds to do its job.

So, that about covers it. This picture printer is one that people have rated 4-5 stars over and over again. Check it out!
