So, what’s the best CPU cooler available on the market today for your laptop? Well, we could go on and on about that, but we’re going to tell you about what works. What really works for a laptop is a “cooling stand.” These are excellent for laptops because they don’t require you to do any modifications to your computer’s internals. Desktops often have fancy stuff such as water cooling, but unless you really want to get technical, we have to concentrate on external sources. Cooling stands do just that. So, which one works pretty well in our minds? The Spire PacificBreeze II CPU cooler has gotten excellent reviews (disclaimer: we haven’t tried it, just read about it!). This CPU cooler fan system is what your laptop actually sits on, helping dissipate a lot of the heat that can build up on the bottom of your computer. It tilts up slightly to help you with your typing, all while reducing neck strain. Best yet, it’s made out of metal for better conduction of heat away from your system, and actually has two large fans that blow air straight up toward the laptop itself. What occurs is that cool air brought in through the stand actually blows all of that hot air out from the bottom of the laptop, bringing temperatures down measurably.
You’d be crazy not to have something like this when you’re playing your first-person shooter games!
How much does this thing cost? It’s actually not bad if you consider the amount of money you’ll spend if you ignore your CPU’s cooling needs. It runs about $20 USD (you thought it’d be expensive, didn’t you?
