The first place I can think of is Crucial. Crucial has always been a great source of SDRAM, as their main source of business has always been RAM itself. You can usually find great deals from these guys. They even have a nice memory finder utility that will help you determine which kind of RAM will fit into your system. This is a great little utility because it won’t just tell you which type of SDRAM will fit, it’ll tell you how much your computer can take total. This isn’t always 100% accurate, so I’d make sure to double-check my manuals before going out and making a large purchase on memory. Newegg is also another great source of SDRAM memory. I personally don’t think that the site offers quite the selection that Crucial does, but it’s still a good source of memory sticks. Even better, they often offer special discounts on this type of RAM, so you could sometimes get a pretty good deal if they’re running a promotion that week. Even if you can’t get the memory for a discount, at least you know Newegg is a reputable online store.
You know that they won’t steer you wrong. Tiger Direct is another good store, and is probably the best online store period for various computer components and laptops themselves. They usually offer some great deals just like Newegg does, so have a look out at their selection before you make any purchases. The con? You kind of have to know what type of RAM you’re supposed to be looking for in the first place. If you don’t know that you have computer memory DDR SDRAM (or DDR2), you might have a tough time with this.
